Athletics

Papago offers 6 interscholastic sports that are available to 6th-8th graders in good academic standing.  Flag football and girls volleyball are offered in the Fall, soccer and girls basketball are offered in the Winter, and boys basketball and girls softball are offered in the Spring. The teams compete against fellow schools in the Creighton District.  Being on a sports team at Papago prepares student-athletes to compete in high school sports, builds leaderships skills, and promotes fair-play and sportsmanship for all student athletes.

Papago also has some sports opportunities for younger students at Papago.  The Papago Soccer Academy was introduced last year and will run yearly in January and February. The Papago Soccer Academy is a fun, FREE recreational, co-ed soccer program. Our goal is for the children to learn a few things about soccer, good sportsmanship, and to have a great time playing with their classmates.  All teams have student or parent coaches and small teams (6 to 9 kids).

This year, the Panther soccer team will have a select number of 4th, 5th and 6th grade students who will be allowed to practice with the team once a week.  This "Junior Varsity" experience will help skill building, leadership, camaraderie and will prepare those students to hopefully one day be proud Papago Panthers.

If you have any questions about any of these programs or are interested in volunteering, please contact Coach Hall for more information.
